1. Curriculum Development and Lesson Planning:

• Design and implement a comprehensive computer science curriculum that aligns with state and national educational standards.

• Develop engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans, assignments, and assessments that cover topics such as basic programming, internet safety, digital literacy, and problem-solving skills.

2. Classroom Instruction:

• Deliver dynamic and interactive computer science lessons that cater to a diverse group of students with varying levels of prior knowledge and learning styles.

• Utilize a variety of teaching methods and tools, including hands-on activities, educational software, and group projects, to enhance student understanding and engagement.

3. Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring:

• Assess student performance through regular quizzes, tests, projects, and participation, providing timely and constructive feedback.

• Track and document student progress, identifying areas of improvement and offering additional support or enrichment activities as needed.

4. Technology Integration and Maintenance:

• Manage and maintain classroom technology, including computers, software, and other digital resources, ensuring they are up-to-date and functioning properly.

• Teach students how to responsibly use technology, including digital citizenship and ethical considerations in computing.

5. Professional Development and Collaboration:

• Stay current with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in computer science education by participating in professional development opportunities and continuing education.

• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student learning and promote the integration of computer science across other subject areas in the school.

7th Grade Special Education Assistant

Job Responsibilities:

Support Classroom Instruction: Assist the special education teacher in delivering lessons by providing individual or small group instruction to students with special needs, ensuring they understand the material and stay engaged. Work closely with general educators to ensure the special needs of students are being met.

Behavioral Support: Implement behavior management plans, monitor student behavior, and provide positive reinforcement to promote appropriate behavior and social interactions.

Assist with Daily Activities: Help students with special needs with daily activities such as transitioning between classes, organizing their materials, and completing assignments or projects.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and any incidents that occur.

Job Title: Health & Physical Education Teacher
Location: East Hickman High School
Job Responsibilities:
1. Teaches knowledge and skills in physical fitness, health education, rhythms and dance, and individual, dual or team sports some Coaching responsibilities.
2. Works cooperatively with other physical education teachers in planning and
implementing a balanced physical education program.
3. Analyzes, demonstrates, and explains basic skills, knowledge and strategies of formal
sports, games, rhythms, and fundamentals of body movement.
4. Develops lesson plans and supplementary materials compatible based on the TDOE
state standards and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt
the curriculum to the needs of each student and subgroups of students.
5. Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to provide an orderly,
productive environment in the physical education areas.
6. Provides appropriate safety instruction and makes safety checks on equipment and field
areas to ensure the overall safety of students.
7. Evaluates academic and social growth of students, prepares report cards, and keeps
appropriate records to include attendance reports, checklists, census forms, and other
recordkeeping activities as necessary.
8. Maintains control of storage and use of school property.
9. Evaluates each student’s growth in physical skills, knowledge and contribution in team
sports.
10. Communicates with parents and school counselors on student progress.
11. Supervises students in out of classroom activities during the assigned working day.
12. Maintains professional competence by attending staff development programs, curriculum
development meetings and other professional activities.
13. Participates in various student and parent activities which occur in school and
after-school.
14. Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Principal or other appropriate
administrator.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
Must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in education or a related field and meet the
Tennessee Department of Education licensure eligibility requirements to teach physical
education. Must be eligible for, or in possession or an appropriate TN teaching license. Must
possess the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Must possess the ability to
establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and
the public.
