  • Centerville Woman’s Club Poetry Contest​-Information in Front Office and Guidance. Due by Friday, March 24.
  • Seniors- Please check the ​Scholarship box in the Guidance Office.. We have put out many new scholarships.
  • Seniors – Mandatory TN Promise Team Meeting – March 1 at 5:30 p.m. in the HCHS auditorium. Sign in will begin at 4:45 p.m. Please arrive no later than 5:10 p.m. to ensure adequate time for sign in. The meeting will last one hour. Please make arrangements now to attend the meeting. Parents are encouraged to attend the meeting. Seniors-please be sure to check your email often. tnAchieves sends an email every Monday with important information regarding TN Promise. Failure to attend will result in the permanent loss of your TN Promise eligibility. 
  • Seniors- Balfour​ will deliver caps and gowns Tuesday, March 7​ during lunch. If you have not paid your balance, please bring cash or check that day or you cannot pick up your items. See Ms.Davidson if you have questions.
  • 2017 Yearbooks are now on sale! ​Pre-ordering is the only way to guarantee you will have a book. The cost is $70.00. ​Grab an informational flier in English class or see Mrs.Jacobs. Deadline is​ March 17.
  • Congratulations​-Matthew Dotson has been selected as HCHS Teacher of the Year AND the Hickman County System-Wide 9-12 Teacher of the Year !
  • March Gladness Benefit Auction – Click HERE to link to online auction site. Items selling to benefit Hickman County School System Basketball Program – 100% of proceeds to benefit Hickman County Schools. (This includes the 10% Buyer’s Premium.) This is a government surplus auction for these three items.  These items are selling by ONLINE AUCTION with bidding period ending on Thursday, April 6th at 2:00 pm. For more information, contact Mike Smithson at 931-729-2616 ext. 231. Description & Details: There are 2 (two) scoreboards, each selling separately. There is NO controller as the school system is keeping this item. Both scoreboards were in a good working condition when removed, fully operational. These scoreboards have been used in the Hickman County High School Gymnasium for decades. Also selling is a Vintage Auditorium Stage Curtain – Black Velour H C H S Bulldog logo – 13′ long x 52″ tall. This curtain is grommeted and hung above the high school stage.
  • PROM Tickets are on SALE! -Juniors and Seniors wanting to attend Prom w​ill need to pick up permission forms for themselves and their dates from Mrs. Davidson. Tickets are on sale and ​you MUST have a signed form with you in order to purchase a ticket. See Mrs. Davidson with questions. Click HERE for ticket prices.
  • Need a Prom Dress​, But Can’t afford One? Let Becca’s Closet Help! Becca’s Closet provides free prom dresses to students who cannot afford one and is located in Fairview, TN. E-mail your name, number, school, & dress size to gownsforgirls@comcast.net. You will be contacted to set up an appointment. High school identification will be required.   • Miss Hickman County Pageant applications​ are now available in the Library and the Front Office. The Miss Hickman County Queen  receives a $500 Scholarship. Pageants are March 17 & 18. Deadline to enter is March 8.
  • Teachers/Students-​We have nomination sheets ​in the Front Office for student/teachers of the month. Teachers nominate students. Students nominate teachers. There will be a place to write a short reason for their nomination. If that part is not filled out, the nomination will not be considered.
  • Students-​English department has a bookstore ​with basic supplies. See an English teacher if you need any help.

  • Seniors! – Senior Slideshow – Please bring no more than 5 pictures  to Mrs. Davidson no later than April 7, 2017.

  • Practical Nursing/Surgical Tech Programs at TCAT Hohenwald-​If anyone has any questions regarding these programs contact Sally Mercer at 931-796-5351 ext. 145 or sally.mercer@tcathohenwald.edu. The next mandatory information for PN program is scheduled for April 7, 2017 at 9 A.M. at the Hohenwald campus.
  • SENIORS! Scholarships! – Local Scholarship opportunities are listed below.  Click HERE for a listing of more scholarship opportunities.
  • Hickman County Historical Society Scholarship Due to Guidance by March 24, 2017!! $400 ​scholarship-Must complete the entire application. On a separate sheet of paper, type an essay titled,”What does Hickman County mean to me?”-be sure to read the instructions on the scholarship form regarding the essay.
  • Hickman County Retired Teachers Association Scholarship Due to Guidance by March 24, 2017!! $400 ​scholarship- One scholarship will be awarded to a student from HCHS who plans to enter the field of education. You must complete the entire application and include an essay explaining your future goals.
  • Alpha Rho CTE Scholarship Due to Guidance by April 4, 2017. $250​ scholarship to a student who will be going to TCAT or a similar vocational school. Must complete the entire application and 3 letters of recommendation are required. You must also write an essay about why you need this scholarship.
  • Centerville Masonic Lodge #618 Scholarship Due March 24, 2017​ to guidance!! Pick up an application in guidance and complete all pages. Exact amount of scholarship money is unknown at this time, but someone from HCHS will receive the scholarship.
  • Jack and Mary Stanfill Memorial Scholarship Due to guidance by March 24, 2017​!!Please pick up a form in guidance and complete to apply for a $5,000 scholarship from the local Kiwanis Club. An essay stating why you believe you should be the winner of this scholarship should be turned in with the application.
  • The Ronnie and Floy Shipp Soccer Scholarship Due to guidance by March 24!!​!​Eligible applicants​: a senior soccer player who played both their junior and senior years ● You must have at least a 3.0 GPA ● You must have financial need to meet college costs ● You must have good character on and off the field. ● No late or incomplete applications will be considered!!This is a $500 Scholarship to both a boy and a girl soccer player!
  • Liberty Pharmacy Scholarship Due March 24, 2017!!! ​Turn in to guidance. Students applying for this scholarship must be entering into a career in the Health Care Science Field. Award amount is $1,000!!​ Do not forget to attach your essay explaining why you should be the winner of this scholarship!
  • Hickman County Cattlemen’s Association ​ScholarshipDue March 20, 2017!!!​ Turn in to guidance! $500 Scholarship to a student whose parents or grandparents are members of the Hickman County Cattlemen’s Association. Pick up an application in the guidance office.
  • Minnie Pearl Memorial Scholarship-  Due​ March 24, 2017​ to guidance!!!. $2000​ scholarship awarded to a senior who will be attending school in the fall. Pick up forms in the guidance office. An essay explaining your plans for the next 10 years and reasons why you think you should be considered for this scholarship must be completed.
  • HCHS Class of 1961 Scholarship – Seniors may stop by guidance to pick up and application.  The Class of 1961 will award two $5000 scholarships to two deserving members of the HCHS Class of 2017.  Applications are due March 24.
  • Carr Family Foundation Scholarship – Pick up an application in guidance office and return to guidance. Due February 28, 2017!!!  The CFF recognizes that there are many students who manage to fund most or all of their college education through family help, institutional scholarships, and grants. We are interested in funding students who have the intellect and work ethic to succeed in college, but who will incur substantial debt to attend because they lack family and institutional support. Students must complete the entire application, including typing the essay and providing two letters of recommendation!
  • Goodlark Foundation Scholarship-(​ Pick up Application from Guidance) ​Due March 22, 2017!​
    • Awarded to students to have a significant amount of college or technical school expenses not being met by other scholarships or financial aid. Must turn in to guidance:
      • The completed application
      • A copy of completed FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR) showing the calculated EFC (Expected Family Contribution) – It will be at least 3 pages .
      • Two letters of recommendation
      • Transcript (Guidance will complete this part)
      • Applicants will be interviewed before receiving the scholarship, which could be for either $1,000, $2,000, or $4,000!!!
