  • This week in Sports:

    • 9-22-17 – Football @ Home vs Lewis Co.
      •  TOUCHDOWN FRIDAY with Rudy Kalis from Channel 4 Sports will be visiting our game vs. Lewis County! The student section will be in front of the cheerleaders. Spread the word!  We hope to see a lot of participation!
      • The Rededication of the Parker D. Elrod Football Fieldhouse at halftime of the game.
      • Teachers/students:  FCA and Pride & Spirit will be hosting a tailgate before Friday night’s game.  There will be a corn hole tournament, face painting and BBQ!
    • 9-22/23-17 Volleyball @ WillCo Tournament

  • Current Fundraisers:
    • Dawg Donor Campaign – September 7-20.  Help support HCHS by making a donation to our school at participating local merchants.
    • Run Dawgs, Run signups are on September 14, 20, 21.  See Mrs. Peters for this.
  • HCHS Marching Classic – September 23 @ HCHS
  • Seniors:  Senior shirts are on sale in the mornings outside the English Dept.  The cost is $20.  You have until Friday (9-22) to purchase!  See Mrs. Rice! Friday morning, see Mrs. Plunkett to purchase.  Go by today (Thursday , 9-21-17) and sign the shirt!
  • Seniors: The Concrete Association is sponsoring the annual High School Essay Contest for TN.  1st place is $250, 2nd place $100, 3rd place $50.  You must be 18 years of age.  See Mrs. Saunders for details.
  • Seniors, the Scarlett Family Foundation Scholarship- If your major will be in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or Business, you can apply.  The minimum award is $2, 500 a year and the max is $15, 000.  See Mrs. Saunders for more details.
  • Students:  if you requested a wifi password for “Bring your own Device”, see Mrs. Plunkett and she will enter the code on your device.
  • Students:  You should now be parking in your assigned parking place.  If you do not have an assigned spot…..see Mrs. Plunkett ASAP.   If you do not have an assigned parking space, be careful where you park as tagged cars will have precedence on their spot.  Students, make sure you have your tag hanging.
  • Seniors, College App Week is September 18-22.  Stop by Mrs. Saunders or Mrs. Turpin’s office to sign-up for a day and time to get help.  You will need to have a way to pay for application fees if there are any.
  • If you are interested in giving blood at HOSA’S Blood Drive on Oct. 5th, please sign up in the mornings next to the cafeteria.
  • HCHS Homecoming is September 29! 
  • 2018 Homecoming Theme – Bulldogs: Kings of the Jungle!
    • Dress up days: Monday (‘Merica), Tuesday (Country vs. Country Club), Wednesday (Career Day), Thursday (Kid vs. Grandparent), Friday (Class Colors).
    • Coke Tabs will be collected from September 18-27.
    • Spirit Links will be sold from September 18-27.
    • Parade applications are on the front office counter.  There is a separate form for drivers and riders.  Sign up by September 20.  See Mrs. Peters

    • The Cheerleaders will be conducting a can food drive for Homecoming Pep Cards.  This will begin Sept. 25 and go through Thursday, Sept. 28.  1 can of food or box of snacks = 1 pep card.  The food goes to backpack kids in the elementary and intermediate school.
  • Juniors, your homecoming shirts are on sale through Friday morning (9-22-17).  The cost is $10. See Mrs. Jacobs.
  • Spanish Club members:  See Seniorita Totty to pay club dues.
  • 10th & 11th graders:  if you are interested in taking the PSAT or would like to learn more about the test, please sign up in the Guidance office.  The date for the test is October 25.
  • Home Football Games: Student tickets will be sold in the front office for $3.  Student tickets will NOT be offered for sale at the gate. Admission at the gate is $6.00.  Game time is 7:00 p.m. for all games.
  • 17-18 Testing Dates:
    • October 3, 2017 – Senior ACT Retake
    • October 25, 2017 – PSAT
    • March 21, 2018 – Junior ACT
